Welcome to my portfolio website. I am a higher education professional with over twenty years of experience as a professor, academic technologist, instructional designer, and institutional researcher. Currently I specialize in faculty training and development with emerging learning technologies.
My goal is to continue working at the intersection of inquiry, pedagogy and technology in higher education. My ideal is to work primarily in direct relationships with faculty and students, offering them consultation, training, and support in the use of available and emerging technological resources for teaching and learning in various subject matter disciplines.
Here you will find a selection of my work demonstrating skills and competencies in three specific domains:
- design and production of instructional resources, tutorials, and modules, utilizing multi-media and web-based tools.
- teaching and research, as documented in published texts and course syllabi.
- general knowledge of pedagogy and technology in higher education, as reflected in various projects.
I earned the Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America in Religious Studies and the BS in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University. In 2013 I completed the MS in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University. After teaching religious studies full-time at the graduate level for twelve years at Saint Meinrad School of Theology, I served for five years as academic technologist, institutional researcher, and mathematics instructor at Oakland City University. In 2014 I took a position as Digital Pedagogy Design at Austin College. Currently I am the Director of Academic Technology and the Digital Liberal Arts Collaborative at Grinnell College, and adjunct professor of theology (online) at Creighton University.
